Heading North captures the essence of summer’s long days, salt air and wide horizons, and the sense of adventure and new beginnings that come with the open road. My photography process is kept as natural as possible with all images created in-camera using only natural light and movement. All blur and grain is intentional and gives each image its unique painterly look.

Lisa Shaw

Australian landscape photographer Lisa Shaw captures the emotion and colours of the Australian coastline, through her signature, impressionistic style of photography.

Inspired by the rich sense of place along Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Lisa shares the moods of the sea and the universal connection it holds for us all. Lisa’s work is infused with a sense of artistry influenced by the Impressionists, using the camera’s lens reminiscent of a paintbrush sweeping across canvas. In her images, the boundary between what is normally seen dissolves into a painterly realm of blended light, feelings and colour.

With formal qualifications in Landscape Design and Picture Framing, Lisa brings to her work an appreciation for design in the natural world from the moment of capture to the final presentation on the wall. Lisa’s work has featured in group photography and art exhibitions in Sydney, and she continues to support the photography community by curating and organising biannual group shows for emerging and professional photographers.

Lisa’s photography process is kept as natural as possible with all images created in-camera using only natural light and minimal post-production. All movement, blur and grain is intentional and gives each image its unique painterly finish.
