ARTIST PROFILE
Christina Rogers
Christina was born in Sydney and is a classically trained artist who works with oil, acrylic and drawing mediums. She was educated in Australia and London and her works combine her technical proficiency with imagination to create works that flow between genres and themes. These works include portrait and figure, landscape and floral, incorporating both traditional and contemporary techniques. She enjoys the feeling and process of working both from life and the imagination, with the natural environment a constant and predominant muse.
Her works are found in collections, both locally and abroad and she has been a finalist in numerous art prizes and a winner of the Singleton Art Prize. She currently works from her home studio in Turramurra.

Practice
While her strong technical foundation anchors her practice, she often departs from direct observation to explore imagination, abstraction, and expressive interpretation. Moving fluidly between traditional and contemporary approaches, Christina embraces variation to give each body of work its distinction. Therefore, her practice often produces series, each exploring specific themes, moods, or methods. Christina delves into allegory and, at times, spiritual reflection—inviting viewers to consider layered meanings. Influenced by her own neurodivergence, her creative process is guided by curiosity, intuition, and a touch of humour, allowing her art to balance depth and playfulness while remaining connected to the subject.
Christina’s current arts practice is moving towards centring around the creation of large oil-painted room dividers that feature flowers, landscapes and vibrant birds, joining both beauty and functionality to enhance living spaces and foster a connection to nature within the home.
